“The biggest challenge will be the patience to get the building <\/span>properly<\/b> “Many people don’t realize that climate zones are needed in the house itself to get the moisture out of the walls,” says Markus.<\/span>
<\/span>He explains the basis of how building dryers bring the greatest benefit, namely by keeping everything closed and sealed. Most of them have a broken window somewhere or holes in the wall that affect the usefulness of the dryer.<\/span>
<\/span>Markus describes it as follows: “The air in the room has to be so dry that you feel the need to drink something after a short time.” He also explains that each house must be considered individually. “There is no blanket statement on how a house should be treated. Here in particular, many houses have been “built” using different materials and construction methods and, most importantly, not everyone has the opportunity or the money to carry out extensive renovations. I was asked several times during the inspection whether this is really free of charge,” says Markus, recalling the flood disaster in the Ahr valley.<\/span><\/p>\n

“I always find it difficult to dispel people’s illusions that they can move back in within a short space of time. In the case of such damage, we are talking about at least 3 months of drying and the restoration must then also take place. Markus stands between house elements and flooded foundations with those affected and explains the moisture measuring devices. “There are important differences here too! There is still a long way to go and most people here don’t have insurance. Technical experts are also in short supply. Many people lose their energy after two weeks of tidying up, and disillusionment coupled with despair sets in. <\/span>
